Since last October officers have been enforcing this new law by giving warnings to drivers for using their cell phones while driving.
Effective January 1st, 2012, these “warnings” will now be “tickets”. Fines will range from $50 for a first offense, $100 for a second and $250 for a third or succeeding violation.

Si algún día usted esta en un accidente y tiene que hacer un reclamo a su compañía de seguros, estas son las cosas básicas que debe de hacer.
1. Asegurese que todas las personas en el accidente esten bien, incluyendo usted mismo.
En caso de que haya heridas graves por favor llame al 911 inmediatamente, o que alguien lo haga por usted.
Si el accidente es pequeño, por favor mueva los autos a un lugar más seguro
2. Despues llame a la policía ya sea al 311, si no es una total emergencia y al 911 si es un verdadera emergencia
3. El siguiente paso es llamar a su agente de seguros inmediatamente
4. OTROS TIPS IMPORTANTES
a. No firme ningún document que no sea de la policía o de su agente de seguro
b. Sea cortez y no mencione que el accidente fue su culpa, aunque lo sea
c. Intercambie información con la otra persona
d. Tome notas del accidente, nombres, placas, modelos de carro, etc.
e. Obtenga numeros de posibles testigos
f. Si es posible tome fotografías

If you are ever in a car accident and you have to file an insurance claim. These are the basic things you have to do.
1. Make sure everyone involved in the accident is ok. Even yourself.
In the case of major injury, first thing you do is call 911 or have someone else call.
If the accident is minor, move the cars to a safe place, away from traffic.
2. After this call the police, the police can be reached at 311 which is non-emergency number, and 911 which is the emergency number.

f. If possible take pictures

Durante le verano, los conductores nos acostumbramos a pasar por zonas escolares a velocidades normales. La policia esta muy al pendiente de esto y estan poniendo especial cuidado para que los límites de velocidad sean sean respetados y que nuestros niños esten a salvo.
Los límites de velocidad en las zonas escolares son de 15 millas por hora, y los tiempos de estos límites son media hora antes del comienzo de clases y media hora despues del comienzo de clases, el resto del día los límites vuelven a su rango normal.
Tenga especial cuidado cuando vea un autobus escolar. Porque estos ponen señales rojas de precaución y alto. Esto obliga al tráfico en ambos lados a hacer un alto TOTAL. Si no respeta esta regla puede ser multado por un policía.
Las multas pueden estar en el rango de $250 a $500 dlls. con posible suspensión de licencia por ofensas subsequentes.

Monday August 29, 2011 thousands of kids in the Las Vegas Area came back to school.
During the summer drivers get accustomed to going through school zones at normal speeds. The police are very aware of this and are getting very stringent on enforcing and reminding citizens about different school zones throughout the Las Vegas Area.
The speed limits in the school zone are only enforced when students are present. In Nevada law this means: half hour before classes start and half hour after classes start. These speed limits are usually 15 miles per hour.
Be very careful , because when buses stop they put out red stop signs, this means that VEHICLES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD must come to a complete stop. If you don’t stop you can be liable for a traffic ticket.
School zone tickets can carry a fine between $250 and $500. Subsequent offenses can carry suspended license penalties of six months or more.
